Social Studies-
the social studies lesson was designed to provide the students with a significant amount of information on water and water-related information in a short period of time in order to lay the foundation for the upcoming activities in science, mathematics and English language arts. In order to learn a large amount of information in a short time, a jigsaw strategy was selected. Students are placed into groups of four and given a number 1-4. This group of 4 students is called a Home Group. Then around the classroom 4 stations should be set up, numbered station 1-4. These stations are called Expert groups. Students will then go to their Expert groups according to their assigned number.
