Staying Healthy in Your Residence Hall During COVID-19

    July 29, 2020
    Georgia Hall

Below are some tips from the university on how to keep yourself and others safe and healthy while living in your residence hall during COVID-19. Let’s do our part as a community to blaze out COVID-19! Blazers protect Blazers!

Everyday preventative actions everyone should take:
    • Know how it spreads
    • Wash your hands often
    • Avoid close contact
    • Cover your coughs and sneezes
    • Clean and disinfect your belongings and living space

Social distance by staying at least 6 feet apart from others that you don’t live with.

Don’t gather in groups of more than 10.

    Remember, no overnight guests.

Wear cloth face coverings/masks in any shared spaces, not including your room.

When using confined areas such as stairwells and elevators, consider going one at a time.

Don’t share dishes, drinking glasses, cups, or eating utensils. Non- disposable utensils used should be handled with gloves and washed with dish soap and hot water or in a dishwasher.

Follow posted guidelines for doing laundry such as washing instructions and handling dirty laundry.

Sinks could be an infection source, so avoid placing toothbrushes directly on counters. Totes can be used for personal items such as toothbrushes and hygiene products, so they don’t touch the countertop.
