MUN Program at VSU

The Political Science Department of Valdosta State University offers Model UN as three hour credit course labeled as POLS 4440. MUN is a unique program in that not only is it a course, it is also a registered VSU student organization. As MUN organizational members, students prepare to represent delegations of a given UN member state at official Model UN conferences. Every Fall semester, the MUNVSU team competes at the South Regional Model UN (SRMUN) conference in Atlanta, Georgia, and every Spring semester, competes in the National Model UN (NMUN) conference in New York City.

While VSU Model UN dedicates much time to conference preparation, we also host our own conference where regional high schools may represent delegations. Every Spring semester, experienced VSU Model UN students supervise various UN committees at our high school conference, in hopes of inspiring and educating the generations that follow on matters of international law.

Please view our photo gallery to see our students in action. Though MUN is offered as a Political Science course, we welcome interested VSU students of all disciplines. If you are interested in joining Model UN, please contact your advisor or Dr. Carol Glen to find the next available registation date. If you are a high school interested in participating in our 2012 Conference, please follow the “Register” link on the left panel to access our Registration Guide. Email or mail the completed Registration Guide back to become a participating school.
