About the Play:
The Imaginary Invalid is widely regarded as one of Moliere’s comic masterpieces. A three act comedy-ballet, it premiered in 1673.
Argan, a fearful but miserly hypochondriac, divides his time between summoning doctors to care for his ills and trying not to settle the resultant bills, and marrying off his daughter, Angélique.
Exploring the themes of greed, quackery, gullibility and the travails of courtship, classic comic devices connected with broad physical humor and mistaken identity lead to an evening filled with laughter and love.
