VSU Debate Competes in Tulsa IPDA Tournament

This past weekend, October 23rd, the VSU debate team competed in our second tournament of the semester. We competed at the Tulsa debate tournament hosted by Tulsa Community College and Northeastern State University in IPDA debate. Among debaters and coaches, the day was full of dedication, camaraderie and spirit. With every round, our debaters built upon new perspectives and concepts. When we received the news that 2 of our students, Josh Julian, in the varsity division and Gabby Lamura in JV, made it to the semi-final, we were thrilled. When it came to the final JV round, we were able to watch our teammate Gabby Lamura debate as a team. It was an exciting moment for the team. During the tournament’s award show, when we found out that our teammate had won the final round, we were ecstatic. We are proud of all the students who supported the team during practices and at the tournament. The weekend brought the team many moments of celebration.
