Eat Your Greens

Natural foods are the epitome of health and what better natural food than leafy greens? Greens such as kale, spinach, beet greens, etc. are some of the healthiest foods you could consume. The potassium from these greens can help your digestive work as efficiently as possible. Greens are also very beneficial in terms of balancing sugars, promoting anti-aging, providing skin protection, preventing diabetes, keeps your heart healthy, and building enzymes. By greens supporting the immune system, this will automatically prevent toxins from entering your body. Because greens help balance sugars instead of adding to them, they help burn fat as well.

While there are many benefits to eating these leafy greens, the same salad may get boring everyday. Here is a list of recipes that will help spice up your greens and keep you wanting more while reaping those same benefits.

  • Spinach Omelette

You cannot go wrong with starting off your day with a balanced, healthy, and delicious breakfast. An omelette stuffed with spinach and your other choice of toppings gives you a fresh start for the rest of your day.

  • Lettuce Wraps

Ditch the flatbread for a Bibb lettuce, romaine, or cabbage topped with fish or chicken. Add any other toppings of your choice and roll the lettuce up for a delicious wrap!

  • Kale Chips

It doesn’t get more simpler than baking a few pieces of kale. Add olive oil, salt, and pepper, then bake for a natural, crunchy kale chip.

  • Green Smoothie

Adding a handful of greens to a fruit based smoothie gives you a perfect balance of all your veggies plus a few favorite fruits. This a quick and easy, but effective way to get your daily serving of greens.

  • Pizza and Pasta

While carbs tend to steal the show as the main entree while greens are the side, why not try combining the two? Add your greens to your pasta and make them toppings on your pizza. This way you get flavor and your veggies all in one!

These easy recipes and healthy suggestions will make life more fun on the green side and incorporate those needed vegetables into your lifestyle.
