Welcome back, Blazers! After an eventful summer, it’s time to gear up for the Fall 2020 semester. With face-to-face classes being back in session, it is crucial that students are cautious at all times and have the necessary items to do so. The university has created sanitizing stations throughout the campus, but having your own personal essentials wouldn’t hurt.
Here is a list of items to consider packing in your bag before heading to campus. You can never be too careful!
- Clorox Disinfecting Wipes/ Wet Wipes: As you all know, many areas on campus are being wiped down frequently to ensure the cleanliness of areas are up-to-date, however the comfort in cleaning things yourself is unmatched. To be sure you are receiving maximum cleanliness, be sure to carry around disinfectant wipes to wipe down areas you touch before and after use. Something as simple as wiping down a keyboard or a door handle can make a huge difference.
- Hand Sanitizer: This is one of the most important things to have in your bag right now. The easy access of cleaning your hands after touching multiple things a minute is a huge convenience. We suggest looking at promo tables across campus to see if you can snag some free hand sanitizer. Pro tip – the Student Recreation Center may have free hand sanitizers from time to time, so come workout with us and see if we have any on display!
- Gloves: While this isn’t a “must”, the use of gloves is always a safer decision. It would eliminate the spread of germs more thoroughly and help avoid direct when contact when touching anything. Gloves are easily disposable and keeping a pack to frequently change could help prevent
- An Extra Mask: Wearing a mask everywhere (and everyday) is not our norm, so it’s understandable that you may misplace or forget it. To help avoid this issue, consider carrying an extra mask or two in your bag or in your car. As an extra perk, you’ll have a fresh and clean mask to switch if your mask gets dirty due to this South Georgia heat!
These are just a few of many essentials that could help students stay safe and sanitized while on-campus.
