New Semester, New Me

With the beginning of a new semester, now is the time to set in your new goals. A very important part of your success and overall happiness is keeping up with your health and wellness. Wellness and health also comes from within and there are a variety of small things that you could incorporate into your daily schedule that will have an even bigger impact on your year.

Here is a list of small adjustments that will ensure your health and wellness this new year.

  • Make sure you are sleeping 8 hours a night.
  • Drink a glass of water every morning.
  • Get outside for at least 10 minutes a day.
  • Try taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Remember to floss before bed.
  • Take note of what you eat and your portion sizes.
  • Eat until you’re almost full, not until you are stuffed.
  • Try drinking your tea or coffee without extra sweeteners.
  • Incorporate mini meditations into your day and take a moment to focus on your deep breathing.
  • Practice mindful eating and pace your bites. This allows your body to recognize when you are full.
  • Brush your teeth twice a day for 2 minutes.
  • Eat a protein incorporated breakfast everyday..
  • Eat healthier snacks throughout the day such as fruits, nuts, or granola.
  • Carry a reusable water bottle around to stay hydrated and aware of your intake
  • Adopt an attitude of gratitude and remember to be grateful of the smaller things.
  • Take one day a week to disconnect from social media.
  • Do morning and night stretches to improve stress relief.
  • Write down your affirmations- statements that encourage positive manifestations and challenge negative thoughts
