Recognizing Excellence in Teamwork

VSU IT Identity & Enterprise Services (IES), formerly Workgroups Systems, provide campus tier 3-level systems support for Active Directory services, Office 365 cloud-based email and applications, campus file and printer sharing, and fee-based printing services. IES supporting tasks include maintenance on Microsoft Windows core infrastructure systems, escalated client support, management of Microsoft-based academic systems, project planning, research and testing of advanced technologies, and back-end support for Technical Support Services.

As IES team members, Wes Duke now leads our Endpoint Team as a Team Leader/Senior Technical for solutions that go to meeting the needs of Endpoint Management on campus; while Travis Nolley is the Team Leader/Senior Technical for the Identity Team that helps support solutions around Active Directory and Office 365. Both teams work together to execute the mission of the Division by lending their expertise to support the needs of VSU as well as regional colleges.

Duke recently traveled to West GA College to provide consultation on Ivanti/LANDesk software. He spent three days training West GA staff on best practices and helping to resolve specific issues in their environment as it relates to LANDesk imaging and software packaging.

Nolley remotely helped provide service to Middle College GA when they were having issues with their single-sign on (SSO) implementation that hindered the logout process. Travis was able to help narrow down the issue and resolve the logout problem through a WebEx session.

Given by their supervisor, Jeremy Scott, both Nolley and Duke were awarded with a Certificate of Achievement in recognition for going above and beyond by assisting partner institutions and helping VSU to meet Strategic Goal #3:

“Valdosta State University will increase community and regional impact through leading development in and serving as a resource for industry, health care, arts, education, athletics, and other changing economic regional needs that support the growth of South Georgia and the communities our students will serve.”
