Applications and Analytics Student Assistant

Pay: $10.00/hr | Part Time

Description: Enterprise Applications and Analytics Student Technicians are responsible for developing and maintaining custom programming projects, system integration, process workflows and data extractions.

Responsibilities include the use and support of third-party solutions such as workflow utilities, e-signature form designers and reporting solutions. Technicians may be required to analyze existing processes and implementations to identify areas for improvement. Strong critical thinking and programming skills are required. Experience with relational databases, structured query language and Oracle application development tools are a plus. Shifts range from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Friday.

TSS Student Technician (Desktop Support)

Pay: 7.25/hr | Part Time

Description: These positions provide support to Faculty, Staff, and students in offices, classrooms, and labs. These positions are stationed in Pine Hall. These positions are assigned to sub-departments within TSS including Desktop Support, Classroom Support, and Inventory/Asset Management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting faculty, staff, and students with campus technology both on-site and over the phone, maintaining VSU-owned IT equipment, troubleshooting and repairing campus technology, and maintaining and distributing campus technology to faculty, staff, and students. Shifts range from 8:00AM to 9:00PM. All applicants will be required to complete a brief, hands-on technical evaluation.

Technical Response Unit (North Campus) – Student Technician

Pay: $7.25/hr | Part Time

Description: Technical Response Unit Student Technicians may be stationed at the IT Helpdesk or be deployed to provide rapid support to campus users requiring technical assistance. These positions are responsible for providing customer service, and technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of the university.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting clients, supporting the initiatives of the division and area supervisors, supporting various campus events. Student Technicians are responsible for providing preventative checks of on-campus technology including: class room and computer lab settings.

Additionally, Technical Response Unit Student Technicians are responsible for providing residential wireless support for students living in on campus housing. The Technical Response Unit is focused on rapid technical support, and exceptional customer service. Shifts range from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM and may include weekends.

Description: Technical Response Unit technicians for main campus are stationed in key IT walk-up support locations such as Pine Hall and Odum Library and may be deployed to provide rapid support to campus users requiring technical assistance. These positions are responsible for providing customer service and technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of the university.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting clients, supporting the initiatives of the division and area supervisors, supporting various campus events. These technicians are also responsible for preventative maintenance in classrooms and computer labs, as well as providing support for student wireless connections in residence halls.

Network Services Intern

Pay: $9.50-10.00/hr depending on qualification | Internship

Description: Interns will assist in the installation and repair of networking equipment, such as network switches and cabling. They will likewise participate in support for users experiencing difficulties connecting to the network. Finally, they will work closely with both Network Service and Information Security to establish policies on acceptable network use.
Shifts range from 8AM – 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 8AM to 3PM on Friday.
