The position is responsible for the continued development and maintenance of university web portal myvsu.valdosta.edu, the VSU mobile application, and custom PHP and APEX development. A member of the Enterprise Application Unit, this position includes back-end and front-end application development, database administration, and custom application development. Provides guidance to Web Team Interns and development of projects that incorporate the software development lifecycle. Also, serves as a liaison between Web Services and Information Technology System Operations and routinely communicates with university staff, faculty, and students.
COMPUTER OPERATOR I

The Computer Operator is an entry level IT position. Computer Operators will be involved with one or more of the following roles: basic troubleshooting, software installation, application development and support, system support, or web support. Operate and maintain a multi-platform environment that include various equipment and technologies; install and maintain a variety of PC-based software applications; detect, troubleshoot, and report network and/or system problems; upkeep multifunction printers; upkeep the university website and web applications; establish and maintain working relationships with students, faculty, and staff in order to effectively gather and convey information.
