Summary:

These positions provide on-campus support to faculty, staff, and students in offices, classrooms, and labs. These positions are stationed in Pine Hall. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting faculty, staff, and students with campus technology both on-site and over the phone; maintaining VSU-owned IT equipment; troubleshooting and repairing campus technology; and maintaining and distributing campus technology to faculty, staff, and students.

Shifts range from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

All applicants will be required to complete a brief, hands-on technical evaluation. The IT Department will issue uniform shirts to employees at no cost. Issued uniform shirts must be worn at all times and must be returned in the event that employment is ended. This allows employees of the IT Department to be easily identified if a student, staff, or faculty member is in need of service, as well as allowing these employees access to otherwise restricted areas.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a current Valdosta State University student
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0

Preferred:

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
